Commercial Building - New & Addition

Please submit the following information:

  1. Site Development
    1. Site development drawings that comply with Grading Plan Requirements Type III, that depict full scope of work.
    2. Utility Permit Application for all new commercial buildings/additions (if applicable).
    3. DuPage County Impact Fee Receipt (only for new commercial buildings).
    4. Wheaton Sanitary District or DuPage County sanitary permit.
    5. Sewer permit (if new construction).
    6. DuPage County Stormwater Management info & completed type 3 stormwater checklist.
    7. Water service line sizing PDF uploaded Water Service Line - Sizing. Questions regarding Commercial Load Value calculations should be directed to the Water Division at 630-260-2090.
  2. Building Construction
    1. Signed and sealed building construction plans.
    2. Signed and sealed project manual.
    3. Signed and sealed set of structural calculations.
    4. Signed and sealed soil report.
    5. Signed and sealed ComCheck. Include lighting/mechanical/exterior lighting and envelope.
    6. New Commercial Building Code Analysis (only for new commercial buildings).

Significant Code Requirements

Inspections

The inspections listed here are required for all new commercial buildings and addition projects. Additional inspections may be needed based on the scope of work for your project. A complete list of your required inspections will be listed on the Plan Approval Notice that will be attached to the approved plans.

Please call 630-260-2050 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please allow for a minimum of 24 hours' notice when scheduling inspections. Inspections must be scheduled no later than 3:00 p.m. the day before the desired inspection date. Inspection Scheduling Guideline.
