Fire Station Tours

The Wheaton Fire Department offers tours of the fire stations to any Wheaton resident. Scheduled station tours normally last 30-45 minutes. Firefighters talk about home fire safety, fire safety equipment and what a day in the life of a firefighter is like. To schedule a tour, call 630-260-2175 during normal business hours.

Have a Firefighter Speak at Your Event

The Wheaton Fire Department is happy to discuss fire safety at block parties, career days and other events. To request a member of the Wheaton Fire Department to speak at your event, call 630-260-2175.

Wheaton Citizens Fire Academy

The Wheaton Citizens Fire Academy is a 7-week hands-on learning experience led by Wheaton firefighters for Wheaton residents ages 18 years and older. Residents will attend sessions once a week for seven weeks and will learn about the history of the Fire Department while exploring tactics and strategy and participating in interactive exercises such as vehicle extrication, truck company operations and a chance to visit the Carol Stream Burn Tower. There is no fee to participate. (Please note: This program is not currently taking registrations. We will post information once the program restarts.)
