Tree City USA

The National Arbor Day Foundation has named the City of Wheaton a "Tree City USA". This designation is a confirmation of the City of Wheaton’s commitment to preserving its trees. The National Arbor Day Foundation recognizes those communities that effectively manage their public tree resources. In order to be named a Tree City USA, a community must meet several standards: to provide structure for a community forestry program, require that the program demonstrates success based on the state forester’s judgment, have a tree care ordinance, and have an Arbor Day observation and proclamation.

For the year 2022, the City of Wheaton received this distinction for the 37th consecutive year.

You may contact the City of Wheaton Public Works Forestry division for more information at 1-630-260-2122.
