- Free Wood Chips
Starting in the spring of 2025, the City of Wheaton now offers free wood chips to its residents for pickup. Mulch can be picked up at the Municipal Parking Lot #9, in the Southwest corner of the parking lot. The mulch is the result of all the in-town tree trimmings and tree removals done by our forestry crews. This program is the City of Wheaton’s Environmental Initiative to recycle our material and reinvest it back into the community.
When available, the City’s Forestry Division provides free wood chips to Wheaton residents. The Forestry Division will deliver wood chips on driveways in quantities of 8-12 cubic yards.
Contact the Forestry Division at 1-630-260-7660 to be added to a waiting list.
