Parking Options for Downtown Employees

Downtown employees have several options for parking downtown designed to meet the needs of both part-time and full-time employees, including: 

  1. Blue Dot Parking Permits, 
  2. Daily Fee Parking, and 
  3. Leased Parking. 

The City encourages downtown employees to discuss these options with their employer to determine the most suitable option for their needs.

Blue Dot Parking Program for Downtown Employees

Sign - Blue DotDowntown employees who have a Blue Dot parking permit displayed in their vehicle can park beyond posted time limits in any Blue Dot zone. These zones are street segments where the parking signs have a blue dot, as shown in this example.

Employers can purchase Blue Dot permits for their employees on an annual basis at a cost of $50 per Blue Dot permit. These permits can be shared among employees of the same business. Simply display the Blue Dot Permit hangtag in your rearview mirror and park in any Blue Dot zone.

Downtown employees who work within the area bordered by West Street on the west, Seminary Avenue on the north, Washington Street on the east, and Illinois Street on the south may apply for leased parking at one of the two Municipal Garages.
