The Wheaton Police Department encourages the community to come Stuff the Squad to help our furry neighbors in need on Wednesday, May 24 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The community can visit the City’s Parking Lot 9, which is located near Carlton and Liberty Drive, and help stuff a squad car full of items needed by DuPage County Animal Services (DCAS). There will be a drop box in the Police Department lobby, 900 W. Liberty Drive, through the end of the week if you're unable to drop off items during the event hours. DCAS will also perform microchip checks, and those looking for a new furry member of the family can visit with adoptable kittens during the event.
The most needed items needed include:
- Wand toys
- Unscented baby wipes
- Churu (puree cat treats)
- Soft dog training treats
- Paper towels
- Dawn dish soap
DCAS is the county’s sole public animal shelter and control agency. The mission of DCAS is to protect the health, safety and welfare of people and pets throughout DuPage County. DCAS cares for the community’s lost, homeless, stray, injured, sick, neglected, and abandoned animals.
