[ARCHIVED] Public Works Crews Cleaning Up Wind Damage

tree cleanup

Wheaton’s Public Works are working to clean up damage from this weekend's high winds, which caused a significant amount of downed tree branches and limbs. Crews are prioritizing clearing streets to ensure all roadways are passable and will continue to clear parkway tree damage throughout the City over the next few days.

If you’d like to report damage to parkway trees, please use the City’s Online Service Request Form at www.wheaton.il.us/servicerequest. Please note: The City is clearing damage from parkway trees only; for damage to trees on private property, you will need to place branches/limbs at the curb for yard waste pickup in accordance with LRS guidelines or contact a tree service to remove private trees.

As a reminder, if you are placing branches/brush for LRS pickup, stacks need to be no longer than 4 feet in length and 18 inches in diameter.  Stacks can be bundled with twine or spaced apart so that crews can easily collect the stacks. Each stack must weigh less than 50 pounds and have 1 garbage/yard waste sticker attached. We appreciate your cooperation to ensure LRS collection crews are able to efficiently and safely remove yard waste from the parkway.

Thank you for your patience as our crews continue working to clear damage throughout the City.
