[ARCHIVED] Join Annual Prairie Path Cleanup

prairie path cleanup

Once a year, volunteers of all ages join together to clean up a local gem that runs through our area: the Illinois Prairie Path. Wheaton’s Environmental Commission encourages individuals, families, scout groups, community groups, churches, businesses and others to help clean up the 16 miles of the path that run through Wheaton from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 28.

While registration is not necessary, if you’d like to request a location, contact the Environmental Improvement Commission at wheatoncleanup@gmail.com. Volunteers should check in on April 28 at Lincoln Avenue and the Prairie Path (two blocks west of Gary Avenue). You will receive bags to collect garbage and recycling, but please bring work gloves.

This event will take place rain or shine.

Planning on participating? Share your photos from the cleanup with the City by emailing them to communications@wheaton.il.us or sharing them with us on Facebook or Twitter (@CityofWheaton).
