[ARCHIVED] Police Department Honor Guard Training to Include Sound of Weapons Being Fired

Police Honor Guard

The Wheaton Police Department Honor Guard will be practicing between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, in the Wheaton Police Department parking lot at 900 W. Liberty Drive. Honor Guard members will be shooting “blanks” in the air during this time, which may sound like a series of gunfire. No live ammunition will be used. We are informing the community of this upcoming practice so that residents are not alarmed to hear what may sound like gunfire.

The Wheaton Police Department Honor Guard is comprised of Wheaton police officers and sergeants who represent the Wheaton Police Department at special events such as parades and ceremonies and honor fallen officers.
