[ARCHIVED] Downtown Paving Work Resumes Monday

paving

Drivers should expect temporary lane closures on portions of Wheaton Avenue and Wesley Street in downtown Wheaton on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, as crews place the final layer of pavement, weather permitting. Crews will ensure that one lane of traffic always remains open, but drivers may want to use an alternate route to avoid traffic delays.

This work will take place on Wheaton Avenue between Front and Wesley, and Wesley Street between West Street and Wheaton Avenue. Parking spaces for the Wheaton Avenue Post Office will be available during this work.

In addition, crews will be placing the initial layer of pavement in Lot 4, which is the City-owned parking lot along Liberty Drive between Main Street and Hale Street.

This work is part of the City's Downtown Streetscape Project, a 4-year project to improve infrastructure and amenities in downtown Wheaton. We appreciate your patience as we enter this final stretch of the project's final year of work.
