[ARCHIVED] City Lifts Temporary Order Suspending Water Service Shutoffs

Newsflash_City News

The City of Wheaton has lifted its temporary order suspending water service shutoffs for delinquent bills during COVID-19. All customers of City water service should note that shutoffs will resume in October 2021 for unpaid accounts.

In April 2020, the City passed an ordinance suspending water service shutoffs for unpaid accounts to recognize the financial constraints some residents faced due to COVID-19 shutdowns. Since this time, the City has been working with business and residential property owners and tenants facing financial hardships to provide flexibility.

The City of Wheaton’s goal is to provide outstanding water and sewer service to our customers, and receiving timely payments helps guarantee uninterrupted service for everyone we serve. If you have questions about your bill or need assistance, please contact the City’s Finance Department at 630-260-2000 or waterbilling@wheaton.il.us.
