The state’s Tier 3 mitigations to reduce the spread of COVID-19 are now in effect, limiting capacity for many places and restricting some indoor activities, among other changes. Please note the following information about how the City will continue providing services to the community.
Procedures at City Facilities
City Hall and the Wheaton Police Department will remain open to the public with the safety measures that are already in place, including requiring all people to wear a mask when entering any City facility, markers on the floor designating proper distancing for those waiting at the City’s service counters, and glass barriers at service counters. We will also be implementing a capacity limit for the number of people who may be in the City Hall lobby, consistent with 25% capacity limits for many types of businesses. No more than 15 people may be in the lobby at one time, and additional visitors will be asked to wait outside until another visitor exits.
Services Available without Visiting City Facilities
We’d like to remind you that there are many services for which you do not need to visit City facilities. You can make utility bill payments, pay parking tickets and submit general City bill payments and more on the City’s website at www.wheaton.il.us/billpay. Or, use the drive-through drop box just west of City Hall (enter from Wesley Street) to drop off City bills (no other U.S. mail, please). In addition, you can submit many types of service requests on the City’s website at www.wheaton.il.us/servicerequest.
Finally, if you or a family member are ill, please refrain from visiting City Hall. If you or a family member are ill and need to visit the Police Department, please use the call box near the front door, and let the staff member know of this circumstance. A staff member will meet you outside to assist you.
Thank you for your cooperation.
