A Wheaton man is charged with multiple counts of child pornography following a joint effort between the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Digital Forensic Investigation Unit and Wheaton Police.

Peter Agosto, 24, of the 0-100 block of Sterling Circle in Wheaton, is charged with six counts of child pornography, which are Class 2 felonies. Agosto is currently free after posting 10 percent of his $25,000 bond this morning.

Agosto was arrested at 7 a.m. Tuesday after officers from both agencies executed a search warrant based on an undercover internet investigation into the alleged possession and distribution of child pornography files. A computer forensic examination of resident Peter Agosto’s digital electronics revealed the presence of child pornography files.

Note: Members of the public are reminded that this complaint contains only charges and is not proof of the defendant’s guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
