In the early morning hours of Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, Wheaton experienced a number of vehicle burglaries in the areas of Brentwood, Canterbury, Cheshire, and Richton. The suspects were driving a white sedan with black wheels, as seen in the surveillance images captured by a resident's surveillance system.
It appears the suspects entered multiple vehicles in search of keys, as some vehicles were left undisturbed. The suspects located a 2012 Ford SUV and a 2009 Honda sedan. Both vehicles had the keys inside, and both vehicles were stolen. The Wheaton Police Department is investigating the crimes, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Lieutenant Bill Cooley at 630-260-2077.
The Wheaton Police Department encourages members of the community to keep their vehicles locked when unoccupied, and never leave the keys inside an unattended vehicle. We also encourage residents to immediately report suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1.
