[ARCHIVED] Change Your Clocks, Change Your Smoke Alarm Batteries

clock

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. When you change your clocks, the Wheaton Fire Department recommends you also change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. You should change the batteries about every six months to ensure the detectors will work correctly. Using Daylight Saving Time as a reminder of when you last changed batteries is an easy way to remember when it’s time to replace them.
