WHEATON, Ill. – Construction crews have started working on the first phase of improvements in the City’s Downtown Streetscape Plan. The work involves underground utility upgrades along Front Street from Cross Street to West Street.
Currently, parking is temporarily affected from Cross to Main Street and from Hale to West Street. As crews complete cutting sections of pavement and sidewalk in this area, they will reopen parking. On-street parking will remain available on north-south streets, or visit the City’s website to see all parking options in the downtown.
Drivers may see traffic limited to one lane and temporary detours. As work progresses closer to buildings, pedestrians may see temporary sidewalk closures.
