The City of Wheaton is aware of a large number of people who are currently in the area of Naperville Road and Illinois Street. In response to a bitcoin pyramid scheme, the Secretary of State is providing in-person assistance today to individuals who fell victim to the scheme, and there was a much larger turnout than expected for this event. The Wheaton Police Department has extra patrols in this area helping ensure the safety of pedestrians and that traffic continues safely through the area. A high level of traffic is expected until the event ends at 8 p.m.
