Early Garbage Pickups for Thursday and Friday Routes Due to Winter WeatherIn response to significant snowfall predicted for our area, LRS will begin picking up garbage and recycling for Wheaton's Thursday and Friday routes starting at 6:30 a.m., instead of 7 a.m. Please have your garbage and recycling carts at the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. if your pickup day is Thursday or Friday. Please keep garbage and recycling carts out of the street to allow snow plows to safely clear streets to the curb. We appreciate your assistance.

City Crews Responding to Winter WeatherThe National Weather Service has placed the Wheaton area under a Winter Weather Advisory. City of Wheaton Public Works crews have been pretreating streets with liquid salt brine to prevent icing and will continue to respond accordingly to clear streets as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our crews can clear streets more quickly with your help: - Move parked cars from the street when there is 2 inches or more of snow. In the downtown, parking is not allowed between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. after 2 inches of snow to allow crews to clear roads and parking stalls.
- Please do not park on the street until the road has been fully cleared and snow has been plowed to the curb.
- Give the snow plows room. Do not follow closely.
- Do not blow, plow or, shovel snow into the street as this hinders the efforts of City crews and creates a safety hazard for other drivers.
Please allow extra time for travel and use extra caution when driving. We appreciate your cooperation. For more information, visit the City's website.
