Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 12. When you change your clocks, the Wheaton Fire Department also encourages you to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, if they are the type with replaceable batteries. Replacing the batteries approximately every 6 months helps ensure they operate correctly, and using Daylight Saving Time is an easy way to remember when you last replaced the batteries.
