Statement from the Mayor and City Council on Proclamation

Newsflash_City Council

The City is aware that there is inaccurate information circulating that the City will not issue a Pride Proclamation this year.

Consistent with the City’s process from last year, the City has planned to issue a Pride Proclamation at our June 21, 2021 City Council meeting. Issuing this proclamation is something that is important to our community, as demonstrated by the letters and statements of support the City received last year and the feedback we continue to receive.

The City of Wheaton is dedicated to the acceptance of all of its residents, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, beliefs, color, disability, ethnicity, identity, race or religion. We want everyone who lives, works or visits our community to feel valued and safe. We support equality for all members of the Wheaton community.
