Some Website Features Temporarily Unavailable Monday Morning
The City will be performing upgrades for some of its online systems on Monday morning, Feb. 18. During this time, online services such as vacation house watch requests, FOIA requests, and other service requests through the City’s website will be temporarily unavailable. We anticipate these services will be restored on Monday afternoon. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete these upgrades.
Citizen’s Police Academy Gives Residents an Inside Look at Law Enforcement
The Wheaton Police Department is accepting applications now through March 4 for a 10-week Citizen's Police Academy, a chance for community members to learn the inner workings of police operations, practices and objectives. Classes will take place from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Tuesdays, April 2 through June 4 at the Wheaton Police Department, 900 W Liberty Drive, and nearby locations. Library Concert Features Classical Spanish Music
The Wheaton Public Library presents classically trained soprano singer AnDrea James, who will perform classical Spanish songs accompanied by renowned guitarist Fareed Haque. The library concert will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 at the Wheaton Public Library, 225 N Cross Street. Originally written for piano and voice, these beautiful songs have been arranged for the first time ever for guitar and voice by Fareed. No registration required.
City Offices Closed Feb. 18
Non-emergency City of Wheaton offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18, in observance of Presidents’ Day. Offices will reopen on Feb. 19. Garbage/recycling pickup will not be affected by the holiday.
