Wheaton French Market Attendees

Wheaton French Market Returns this Saturday, April 12

The Wheaton French Market will kick off its season this Saturday, April 12 and will return each Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., through Nov. 29 (with shorter hours to finish out the season Nov. 1-29). This year’s market will once again be held under the City’s downtown pavilion, just south of the railroad tracks near Main Street and Liberty Drive.

Please note that Liberty Drive will be closed between Main Street and Cross Street (including Municipal Lot 3) every Saturday until approximately 3 p.m. during the French Market season.

This popular outdoor market run by Bensidoun USA is styled after the quaint outdoor markets of France, offering fresh produce, flowers, handcrafted goods, specialty foods, jewelry, crafts, baked goods and much more. Vendors often change throughout the season, so visitors will find different items each week.

Text-to-911 Logo

Wheaton Residents Can Now Text-to-911 in an Emergency

The City of Wheaton has added the ability for anyone in Wheaton to contact 9-1-1 dispatchers by text message in an emergency when calling is not possible.

Text-to-911 technology can make contacting emergency services accessible for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, and it can assist individuals experiencing a medical emergency that affects their ability to speak. It can also be used in circumstances where calling may put someone in danger, such as a domestic violence situation or if someone is hiding.

Texting to 9-1-1 should only be used when calling is not safe or possible. Call if you can, text if you can't. For more information about the new Text-to-911 service, please visit www.dupagecounty.gov/text911.
