Public Works Crews Clearing Storm DamagePublic Works crews are working to clean up storm damage from the strong storms that hit Wheaton on both Sunday and Monday nights. This work is expected to continue throughout the week. Please note that City crews are collecting storm debris from City-owned parkway trees only. Property owners with tree damage on private property should contact a landscaper or use the weekly curbside yard waste program through LRS to dispose of limbs/branches. If you need to report damage to parkway trees, please use the City's online service request form at www.wheaton.il.us/ServiceRequest and select "Parkway Tree Storm Damage."

The Wheaton Police Department reminds drivers of the following safety rules set by the Illinois Vehicle Code and Illinois Bicycle Rules of the Road: - Motorists passing a bicyclist: When passing a bicyclist, you are required by law to allow at least 3 feet of space between your vehicle and the bicyclist.
- Passing a bicyclist in a no-passing zone: When driving in a no-passing zone, you may pass people biking in the same direction if:
- They are traveling at a speed of less than half of the posted speed limit.
- You can overtake and pass the bicyclist without exceeding the speed limit.
- There is sufficient distance ahead on the left side to pass safely.
Please share the road so everyone can get to their destination safely. We appreciate your help in keeping everyone in our community safe. For more information, please visit the City's website.
