Temporary Road Closures for Cream of WheatonThe 2024 Cream of Wheaton, hosted by the Wheaton Park District and Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, will take place Thursday, May 30, to Sunday, June 2. Please note these road closures associated with the Cream of Wheaton on Liberty Drive and events in Memorial Park: - Now through Sunday, June 2:
- Liberty Drive is closed between Wheaton Avenue and Cross Street, including Parking Lots 3, 4, and 5 along Liberty Drive
- Karlskoga Avenue is closed from Wheaton Avenue to Hale Street
- Hale Street is closed from the alley south of Liberty Drive to Union Avenue

Ride your bike and let the Wheaton Bicyclist & Pedestrian Commission park your bike at the Bike Valet located on Wheaton Avenue and Union Avenue at the northwest corner of Memorial Park from 6:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Wheaton Police Department Conducting Training Exercise June 4 at Franklin Middle SchoolFrom approximately 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, the Wheaton Police Department and Community Unit School District 200 staff will be conducting a joint training exercise at Franklin Middle School simulating a response to a critical incident. This exercise will include simulated gunfire. We are providing this notice so the community is not alarmed if they hear simulated gunfire and see a large police presence in this area during the training exercise. Signs will be posted in the area while training is in progress. The Wheaton Police Department works closely with Community Unit School District 200 personnel on an ongoing basis to ensure operational readiness for emergency incidents. Training exercises such as this one offer an opportunity for all involved to practice their emergency plans.

Community Encouraged to Attend Wheaton Police Department Town Hall on June 5The Wheaton Police Department invites the community to attend a town hall panel discussion where members of the Police Department and community partners from Community Unit School District 200, DuPage County Health Department and DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office will discuss a variety of topics affecting our community. Wheaton Police Neighborhood Roll Call Events Starting June 11The Wheaton Police Department will bring back its popular Neighborhood Roll Call events throughout the summer starting June 11. These family friendly outdoor community gatherings are designed to connect residents with the officers who serve them and share current safety information. Each Neighborhood Roll Call will start at 6:30 p.m. Officers will discuss what’s happening in the neighborhood, talk about crime trends, and present safety demonstrations, followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions. In addition, officers will provide fun activities for children. The events are open to everyone in the community, and residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The June events will take place: - Tuesday, June 11, 6:30 p.m. at Atten Park (southeast corner), 1720 S. Wiesbrook Road
- Tuesday, June 18, 6:30 p.m. at Seven Gables Park (Thompson Drive entrance), 1750 S. Naperville Road
Additional dates will be announced throughout the summer as the Wheaton Police Department makes its way throughout the community.

Narcan Now Available at Wheaton Police DepartmentHaving access to the over-the-counter drug Narcan when someone is experiencing an opioid overdose could save their life. Wheaton now has a Narcan Takeaway Box inside the front door of the Wheaton Police Department, 900 W. Liberty Drive, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Each box is free of charge, and you are not required to speak to a member of the department or provide personal information. The Narcan Takeaway Box is provided by the DuPage Recovery Oriented Systems of Care. Learn more from the City's social workers by watching this video.
