Stuff the Squad Officer

Stuff the Squad Event Today

The Wheaton Police Department encourages the community to help neighbors in need through the Stuff the Squad event. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, you can visit the Wheaton Police Department at 900 W. Liberty Drive and drop off items to help stuff a squad car full of food donations and other items needed by the Milton Township Food Pantry for distribution to anyone in need. For those unable to attend the event, there will be a donation box in the Wheaton Police Department lobby through the end of the week. Light Up Wheaton Decorating Contest Map and Voting Now Open

You can now vote for your favorite holiday decorations in the City of Wheaton and Wheaton Park District Light Up Wheaton contest. Photos of each home are now shared on the City of Wheaton and Wheaton Park District Facebook pages for public voting and all homes participating are listed on an online map for families looking to drive by and see the entries in person. 

Traffic Enforcement Campaign Results

During the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 2, the Wheaton Police Department conducted a traffic safety campaign with additional patrols targeting speed. As a result of the campaign, the Wheaton Police Department issued 206 citations, including 100 for speeding and 9 for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and 8 motorists were arrested for traffic offenses. For the safety of everyone on the road, watch your speed and drive safely!

City of Wheaton Social Workers Providing Mental Health Resources to Residents

Each year, about 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 6 youth ages 6-17 have symptoms of a diagnosed mental illness. The City's social workers are here to help meet the mental health needs of everyone in our community. You can reach the City's social workers at 630-260-2545 or 630-260-2860. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or need emergency mental health resources, call 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. ComEd Tree Trimming

ComEd to Perform Tree Trimming in Select Areas

Within the next three months, ComEd will trim trees, branches, and vines that interfere or have the potential to interfere with power lines. This work helps prevent safety hazards and power outages. 

Residents who are in affected areas will receive a notice from ComEd regarding this work. You can also view a map of impacted areas in Wheaton by visiting the City's website.

Vacation House Watch Service Available to Residents

Taking a vacation during the holiday season? Vacation House Watch is a police service that helps protect unoccupied homes while Wheaton residents are away on business or travel. Police will inspect homes periodically to help ensure their security. To enroll, please submit a Vacation House Watch form by visiting the City's website.

Santa and Mrs. Claus at the “W” Tent this Saturday

The Downtown Wheaton Association invites the community to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the “W” Tent, located on Front Street just west of Main Street, this Saturday, Dec. 16 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This is the perfect time to take a picture with Santa and even check if you made the nice list this year.
