Wiesbrook Road Temporary Closure during Homecoming Parade TodayToday, Wiesbrook Road between Muirfield Circle and Butterfield Road will be temporarily closed from 5:30-7 p.m. for Wheaton Warrenville South High School's homecoming parade. Please do not move the barricades to ensure the safety of participants. Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays and may choose to alter their travel routes to avoid this area. Public Meeting Tomorrow to Discuss Proposed Stormwater Utility Fee ChangesThe City will be hosting its second public meeting to provide information, answer questions and collect feedback from the public about proposed changes to how the City charges stormwater utility fees. Senior Assistance Program Application Deadline Approaching this Friday, Sept. 22The City of Wheaton is now accepting applications for the Senior Assistance Program, an annual program administered through the City’s Commission on Aging that provides monthly financial assistance to qualifying seniors. Thank You to Everyone for Participating in this Year's Festival of CulturesThank you to all of the booths, performers, sponsors, and attendees for making the 2023 Festival of Cultures another success! Hosted by the City of Wheaton Community Relations Commission, the festival celebrated the vibrant cultures that make Wheaton a strong and diverse community. It was a fun afternoon filled with live performances, culture and arts. Among the countries and cultures represented at this year’s festival were Belarus, China, India, Ireland, Mexico, The Netherlands, Native Americans, South Korea, South Sudan, Turkey, and more.

Dinos Downtown Wheaton Exhibit Begins Monday, Sept. 25The Downtown Wheaton Association recently announced the Dinos Downtown Wheaton exhibit coming Sept. 25 to Oct. 8. This free outdoor exhibit will feature 10 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs throughout downtown. Enjoy dinosaur-themed specials, activities, and more from Wheaton shops and restaurants! Changes to Wheaton's Garbage Rates Begin Oct. 1In 2021, the City approved a 3-year contract extension with LRS (formerly Lakeshore Recycling Services) to provide garbage, recycling and yard waste removal services for Wheaton residents. The contract included price adjustments for the second and third years of the contract. Prices will increase 2% per pickup, which equates to a total of between $0.04 and $0.11 per pickup depending upon the type of service and cart size.
