Proclamation Establishes Pride Week June 22-28
At its June 15 meeting, the Wheaton City Council read a proclamation making June 22-28 Pride Week in the City of Wheaton to promote the principles of equality and liberty for all of our residents. The month of June is traditionally recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. In recognition of the fact that Wheaton is dedicated to the acceptance of all of its residents, regardless of age, beliefs, color, disability, ethnicity, identity, race, religion, sex and sexual orientation, the City established Pride Week. The proclamation aims to make all residents and visitors in our community feel valued, safe, empowered and supported by peers, educators, community leaders and other citizens.
Lisle Hosting Electronic Recycling
If you missed last weekend's electronic recycling event, DuPage County residents can attend a recycling event at the downtown Lisle Commuter Parking Lot B, located just west of Village Hall, 925 Burlington Avenue. The collection will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 20. For more information, see the Village of Lisle's website.
