Wheaton received approximately 6" of snow from late Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning. Primary roads are clear, but Public Works crews continue working to remove snow on the secondary roads. Snow cleanup will continue in cul-de-sacs, dead ends, and at intersection corners around the city overnight and during the day on Wednesday.
In addition, Public Works will be clearing snow from the on-street parking stalls in the downtown overnight.
The City reminds you that if there is a fire hydrant near your property, please help by clearing snow away from the hydrant if you are able, providing about 3 feet of space on all sides to ensure that firefighters can quickly access hydrants in an emergency. Every second counts, so we appreciate the community's help to clear away snow from hydrants. Also, those who are able can help by clearing sidewalks for neighbors who may need assistance in doing so. We appreciate your assistance, and please be safe!
