Crews to Begin Resurfacing President Street and Manchester Road April 26

traffic-14934

Crews will begin work the week of April 26 for a project to resurface portions of President Street and Manchester Road. This project is largely paid for with federal funding. The City anticipates these improvements will be completed the end of July, barring unforeseen circumstances. The project limits include:

  • President Street from Harrison Avenue to Geneva Road, and
  • Manchester Road from County Farm Road to Gables Boulevard.

Both projects will consist of spot curb replacements and sidewalk replacement at intersections for ADA compliance, followed by pavement resurfacing. During construction, electronic message boards will be in place to notify drivers of detours and road work.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Surface Transportation Program will fund a large portion of this project. The Illinois Department of Transportation is responsible for administering federal funds and dictating the project schedule, while both projects will be completed by Plote Construction.
