police general photo

On Monday, April 13, at approximately 6:38 p.m., the Wheaton Police Department responded to the 1200 block of North Main Street for an attempted child abduction.

A female juvenile was walking on the sidewalk when she was approached by an unknown male driving a smaller black SUV. The male driver asked the juvenile for her name, telephone number and address. The male driver also asked the juvenile to get in his vehicle. The juvenile stated she would be calling the police, and the male driver left the area northbound on Main Street.

The male driver was described as in his 20’s to 30’s, with black short hair, clean-shaven, possibly Hispanic or Middle Eastern, wearing business casual attire.

The Police Department encourages anyone with information to contact Lieutenant Bill Cooley at 630-260-2077.
