[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: In-Person Community Forums Replaced by Live Online Forum

city hall

UPDATE: 3/17/20:

In light of concerns regarding COVID-19 and the CDC’s recommendations for practicing social distancing and limiting gatherings of people, the City of Wheaton will not be hosting in-person community engagement forums planned for Thursday, March 19. Instead, Management Partners, the consulting company overseeing the City’s strategic planning process, encourages the community to participate in its virtual community engagement forum.

Held at the same times as the original forums – 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. – visit the City’s Facebook page at these times to watch and participate in these meetings online. Management Partners will lead a short presentation, followed by polling the audience and requesting live feedback.

We appreciate your patience as we adapt during these challenging times.

ORIGINAL POST 3/5/20:

What is your vision for the future of Wheaton? As part of the process to develop a new strategic plan for Wheaton, the City will host two forums encouraging the community to weigh in.

The community forums will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St. Led by national consultant Management Partners, these gatherings will use an interactive format to help identify the community’s priorities and where you would like to see the City Council focus its efforts in the near future. The forums, along with feedback gathered from the online survey Management Partners administered last month, will collect important input from the Wheaton community that will be shared with the Wheaton City Council.

The Council will use this input as it works toward developing a strategic plan. This process takes place every four years and allows the Wheaton City Council to take a broad look at many aspects of the City – from the City’s finances and public safety to infrastructure, and everything in between – and develops goals to guide its future decisions and actions.
