Car Burglaries Reported at Wheaton Parks

The Wheaton Police Department has taken several reports of burglaries to motor vehicles in the past 2 weeks at Northside Park and Rathje Park. In these instances, the vehicles' windows were shattered and valuables removed from the unattended vehicles.

The Wheaton Police Department is investigating these burglaries. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact Lieutenant Bill Cooley at 630-260-2077. 

If you are parking your vehicle in/near a park, the Wheaton Police Department reminds you to:

  • Park vehicles in a conspicuous/public location. 
  • Roll up windows and secure vehicles. 
  • Avoid leaving valuables visible in vehicles. 
  • Call 9-1-1 to report suspicious persons and behaviors.
