- Wheaton Gives Back
If you’re looking for a way to help others this month, the Wheaton Community Relations Commission invites Wheaton residents to participate in Wheaton Gives Back, an effort to help neighbors in need. The commission is partnering with the People's Resource Center and Downtown Wheaton Association through two programs.
Residents can drop off new or gently used winter clothing (hats, scarves, gloves, coats) in donation boxes located throughout downtown Wheaton. See the map or list of locations accepting items.
Additionally, residents can sign up to volunteer for a shift at the PRC’s Unload the Truck event on October 21, 2022. Two shifts are available: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. This volunteer effort involves lifting and prolonged standing. The volunteer registration period ends on October 14, 2022.
Volunteers will unload and sort substantial food drive donations. Please sign up by October 14, 2022, through the City’s website.
