Traffic Signal Work at President Street & College Avenue

WHEATON, Ill. – Contracted crews hired by the City of Wheaton will be upgrading the traffic signal system at the intersection of President Street and College Avenue starting the week of July 31, 2017. This intersection will be converted to a four-way stop throughout construction, which is anticipated to last until late October.

The signals will be set to flashing red beginning Monday, July 31, and replaced with stop signs beginning Monday, Aug. 7. Once construction is complete in late October, the City will activate the new and improved system.

In addition to replacing the traffic signals, this project also includes extensive underground utility work, replacement of all curb and sidewalk and repaving. Contractors will be coordinating this work to minimize delays.

Thank you for your patience during the construction process.
