WHEATON, Ill. – The City of Wheaton will host an informational meeting to discuss the schematic design drawings for Phase 1 of the downtown streetscape project on Monday, April 3 at 3 p.m. at Wheaton City Hall.
Members of the project team – including executive City staff, Primera Engineering and Design Workshop – will present the schematic design drawings and specifications to share and receive feedback from interested business owners and residents.
Phase 1 of the downtown streetscape project features work on Front Street from West Street to Cross Street and will include infrastructure improvements, wayfinding signage, benches, trees and improved lighting.
Survey work and soil samples have been completed, and final drawings and specifications are being created now through the summer months. Underground utility work is scheduled to begin this fall.
The informational meeting is open to the public and will take place in the City Hall Council Chambers (Second Floor) located at 303 W. Wesley St. in downtown Wheaton. A recorded broadcast of the meeting will air the following day on City of Wheaton Channel 10 (CWC10) and online at www.wheaton.il.us.
