WHEATON, Ill. - On February 4, 2017, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers from the Wheaton Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Woodcutter Lane for a death investigation. Officers discovered the victim, 58-year-old Erin C. Leinweber of Wheaton, deceased. The cause of death is not being released due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. A person of interest is currently being detained. This appears to be an isolated incident and we do not believe there to be an immediate danger to the general public.
Investigators are currently attempting to locate the victim’s vehicle, a red 2009 Kia Spectra with Illinois plate V264403, which may have a Hillary Clinton bumper sticker on the rear of the vehicle. Investigators are also seeking a beige 2000 Toyota Camry with Illinois plate Z810380 that may have relevance to the investigation. Anyone observing either vehicle should immediately contact a law enforcement agency via 911.
The crime is currently being investigated by members of the Wheaton Police Department, DuPage Major Crimes Task Force, DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin’s office, and DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen’s office.
