New Motorcycle/Scooter Parking Added at Train Station

WHEATON, Ill. – The City recently added 20 parking spaces specifically for motorcycles and motorized scooters at the College Avenue Metra Train Station parking lot (also known as Municipal Parking Lot 10).

Signs on either side of this row of parking designate it as motorcycle parking. The spaces can be used by paying a daily fee of $1.50 at the yellow pay boxes located with the other pay-per-day boxes. These boxes are located on the wall near the mail box. Or, commuters with a valid commuter parking permit for the City of Wheaton commuter parking lots can park a motorcycle/scooter in the commuter pay parking lots in one of the designated spaces. The permit holders must photocopy the vehicle permit and affix the copy with a luggage tag to the handlebars of the motorcycle or scooter.

The City would like to remind scooter owners that these are classified as motor vehicles in Illinois and may not be parked on the sidewalk.

Bicycle racks are available at both train stations. The City recommends you lock your bicycle to the rack; abandoned bicycles may be removed by the Wheaton Police Department.
