Charges of Reckless Homicide in Fatal Crash

The Wheaton Police Department has charged Brian Thunderkick with one count of Reckless Homicide for allegedly causing a crash that killed 23-year-old Erika Villagomez of Elgin. Thunderkick appeared in Bond court this morning where Judge Joseph Bugos set his bond at $150,000 with 10% to apply.  

 Thunderkick On Saturday, September 30, at approximately 11 a.m., Wheaton Police responded to a call concerning a crash on Butterfield Road just east of Naperville Road. Officers found the victim’s car, a Honda Accord, completely engulfed in flames. Neither officers or bystanders could save the victim. It is alleged that prior to the crash, Thunderkick was driving his black Camaro erratically and at a high rate of speed westbound on Butterfield Road. It is alleged that Thunderkick crashed his vehicle into the back of his victim’s vehicle and that at the time of impact he was traveling at 135 mph.

The Wheaton Police Department would like to thank the Wheaton Fire Department, DuPage County Accident Reconstruction Team, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin’s office, and DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen’s office. Each of these entities assisted with the investigation.
