Rescheduled Fireworks and Parade Scheduled for Labor Day Weekend
Damage from the July 1, 2012 severe storm prevented the Wheaton Park District from holding its Fourth of July fireworks and parade originally scheduled for July 3 and July 4, respectively. The Wheaton Park District announced these Independence Day celebrations have been rescheduled for Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-3, 2012.
On Sunday, Sept. 2, the Wheaton Park District invites the community to Graf Park starting at 5 p.m. for a picnic and family activities, followed by the fireworks show just after sunset. Graf Park is located adjacent to the DuPage County Fairgrounds at 1701 Manchester Road in Wheaton.
On Monday, Sept. 3 (Labor Day), the parade will step off at 9 a.m. from Main Street and Hawthorne. See a press release about road closures and a map of the parade route here.
