To educate residents about coyotes in light of recent sightings and an attack on a small dog, the City now has a new section on its website called Coyotes in Wheaton.

Students Encouraged to Apply for Green Award
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency encourages students who have participated in an environmental or conservation project to apply for a Governor’s Green Youth Award.

Battery Recycling Program Discontinued
The City of Wheaton will be discontinuing its pilot battery recycling program effective March 12 due to the costs associated with the program. The program was intended to keep batteries out of landfills.

Law Prohibits Cell Phone Use in School Zones
House Bill 72 bans the use of cellular telephones by drivers while traveling on a roadway through a marked highway construction or school zone.
