  • 9/20/2017 11:01:19 AM  Fire Department Extinguishes House Fire
    At approximately 1:00 a.m. on September 20, 2017 the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1307 E. Illinois. Upon arrival, fire crews identified a fire in a clothes dryer that was extending to the adjoining room.
  • 9/19/2017 9:11:37 AM  Fire Department Responds to House Fire
    At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2017 the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1587 Burning Trail. Upon arrival, fire crews identified a fire on the outside of the single-family home that was extending into the attic.
  • 9/13/2017 4:17:06 PM  Garages Closed for Pavement Sealing Sept. 23-24
    Work in the City’s Wheaton Place (232 W. Wesley St.) and Willow Avenue (220 S. Cross St.) parking garages will require the City to close the garages on Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, for pavement sealer application and line striping.

    At approximately 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 4, 2017 the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in a townhome unit located at 1921 Wexford Circle.
  • 8/28/2017 12:16:31 PM  Fire Department Responds to Townhome Fire
    At approximately 6:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, the Wheaton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1005 Heathrow Court. Fire crews identified a fire on the rear exterior of an end townhome unit within a four-unit building.

    Bring your bike and join the Wheaton Bicycle Committee and the City of Wheaton Historic Commission on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. for a bicycle tour of the historic site markers of Wheaton.
  • 8/2/2017 2:33:18 PM  Repairs at Wheaton Parking Garages to Close Some Spaces
    Crews will be completing repairs on the City’s Wheaton Place (232 W. Wesley St.) and Willow Avenue (220 S. Cross St.) parking garages starting the week of Aug. 7, 2017. Most of the work will be at the Willow Avenue garage. The City estimates crews will complete this project by the end of September.

  • 7/28/2017 9:48:11 AM  Traffic Signal Work at President Street & College Avenue
    Contracted crews hired by the City of Wheaton will be upgrading the traffic signal system at the intersection of President Street and College Avenue starting the week of July 31, 2017. This intersection will be converted to a four-way stop throughout construction, which is anticipated to last until late October.

    Each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., visit the Wheaton French Market, an outdoor market in the northeast corner of Liberty Drive and Main Street in downtown Wheaton.

    The City of Wheaton Public Works Department announced the temporary closure of the Wheaton Avenue pedestrian tunnel that runs underneath Roosevelt Road beginning today.

    Warm fats, oils and grease washed down the drain will cool, harden and stick to the inside of sewer pipes. Over time, this can cause blockages and even sewer backups – which are unpleasant, messy and costly for property owners.
