Council Recognizes Alan Bolds for Service to City
Outgoing Mayor C. James Carr presented a plaque to Alan Bolds for his four years serving on the City Council. Carr thanked Bolds for his dedication to Wheaton and its residents. Bolds thanked his family for their support.
Liz Corry Sworn In as Councilwoman
C. James Carr administered the Oath of Office to Councilwoman Liz Corry. She serves on the City Council as one of two At-Large Council members for a four-year term.
John Prendiville Sworn In as Councilman
C. James Carr administered the Oath of Office to Councilman John Prendiville. He serves on the City Council as one of two At-Large Council members for a four-year term.
Michael J. Gresk Sworn In as New Mayor
Judge Robert Anderson administered the Oath of Office to Michael J. Gresk, who became Wheaton’s new Mayor. Gresk was joined by his wife, Kathleen Gresk.
DuPage Art League Honored for 50 Years
Mayor Michael J. Gresk read a proclamation recognizing the DuPage Art League’s 50th anniversary. The organization promotes and encourages the visual arts through classes, exhibits, public programs, scholarships and more. The Mayor congratulated the league for this milestone.
City Celebrates Windy City Warriors Wheelchair Basketball Team Day
In recognition of the Windy City Warriors’ third state championship win and 11th-place national ranking at the Wheelchair Basketball Association Junior Nationals, Mayor Gresk presented a proclamation to the Windy City Warriors. Gresk also proclaimed May 8, 2007, Windy City Warriors Wheelchair Basketball Team Day in Wheaton.
Elks National Youth Week Celebrated May 7-13
Tawn Williams, Exalted Ruler of the Wheaton Glen Ellyn Elks Lodge 2258, and other Elks members accepted a proclamation from Mayor Gresk naming May 7-13 Elks National Youth Week in Wheaton. The youth week honors young peoples’ service to their community and encourages them to work together to make a difference in the world.
Council Reappoints City Treasurer and City Clerk
The City Council unanimously reappointed City Treasurer William J. Davis and City Clerk Emily Consolazio for four-year terms.
