Community Relations Commission

Wheaton’s Community Relations Commission is responsible for promoting community involvement and volunteering.

Good Citizens Awards

Each spring, the commission coordinates the Good Citizens Award program, which recognizes outstanding volunteers in the community. You can nominate someone online. Nominations are due by April 10, 2017. Award nominees must be a current Wheaton resident and performed something for the benefit of Wheaton or its citizens.

Make A Difference Day Logo largeMake a Difference Day

Wheaton celebrates Make a Difference Day on the fourth Saturday of each October. The Community Relations Commission leads Wheaton's Make A Difference Day efforts, where residents, schools and community organizations undertake projects that benefit others.

Wheaton World Tour

Each year, the Community Relations Commission encourages the community to be transported around the world during the Wheaton World Tour event, which celebrates the many cultures within Wheaton.

Wheaton's Adopted Army Unit

The commission also coordinates community outreach to Wheaton’s adopted Army Battalion, the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division.
