    The 2010 Run/Walk for DuPage PADS will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, beginning at 8 a.m. During this event, a number of streets will be temporarily closed.

    During the month of August 2010, a total of 31 motor vehicles were entered unlawfully.

    A Wheaton College student came forward last evening and claimed ownership of the involved ammunition.

    The investigation into this incident has been completed. No criminal charges will be filed as no criminal violations were present.

    During the early morning hours of Aug. 24, 2010, a small package of bullets was found on the ground just outside of Smith-Traber Dormitory on the campus of Wheaton College.

    Cellular phones, voice over internet protocols (VoIP), some cable connections, and other types of telephone services DO NOT provide automatic location information to 9-1-1 dispatchers when you dial 9-1-1. Should you utilize cell phones, VoIP, or some cable connections to call 9-1-1, you need to know your location when speaking with the dispatcher.

    In an effort to track the activity of coyotes in Wheaton’s residential areas, the City’s website has a new section for residents to report coyote sightings.
  • 12/8/2009 1:36:26 PM  Law Prohibits Cell Phone Use in School Zones
    House Bill 72 bans the use of cellular telephones by drivers while traveling on a roadway through a marked highway construction or school zone.

    The City of Wheaton would like to inform its residents that Wheaton public safety officials are monitoring the events related to ongoing swine flu outbreak.

    The City of Wheaton is once again offering the RxBOX program, which allows residents to dispose of unwanted medicines safely and anonymously.

    Effective June 1, 2009, the Wheaton Police Department will no longer provide services related to non-injury vehicle collisions that occur on private property and vehicle lock-outs.
