Sex Offender Information
In accordance with Illinois laws that require information to be available to the public about registered sex offenders, the Wheaton Police Department has compiled the current City of Wheaton Registered Sex Offender List (pdf).

The following changes have been made to Illinois laws pertaining to sex offenders and violent offenders against youth:
- County sheriffs must disclose sex offenders’ email addresses, instant messaging identities and other related information to school boards, private schools and childcare facilities.
- Libraries located in the county of the sex offender must be notified of sex offenders in the county.
- Anyone operating a carnival must conduct criminal history records checks and Sex Offender Registry checks for each worker. Child sex offenders may not knowingly work for or be associated with any county fair when people under the age of 18 are present.
- If their polling location is a school, child sex offenders can vote by absentee ballot or early voting; they may no longer vote at the school.
- A child sex offender can’t be within 100 feet of a school bus stop if anyone under the age of 18 is present.
- A person convicted of aggravated child pornography on or after Aug. 31, 2007, must register as a sexual predator.
- Beginning June 1, 2008, a new offense is created for luring a minor. People convicted of this offense on or after this date must register as a sexual predator.
- Beginning June 1, 2008, a sex offender must notify the local law enforcement agency of any changes to their registration within three days of the change.
