Application Process

The City of Wheaton takes pride in hiring top talent for open positions. For positions other than public safety, once you fill out and submit the City of Wheaton Employment Application (pdf), your application and resume will be reviewed by a member of the Human Resources department.

Candidates possessing the desired skills, education or experience related to the position will be contacted for a phone interview. Select candidates will then be invited for an in-person interview with the hiring manager and other applicable staff.

Although not required, it is strongly suggested that interested candidates provide a completed application, updated resume and cover letter when applying for a position with the City of Wheaton.

Please note that due to the high volume of applications received, the City will only contact candidates that they wish to pursue. Applications are kept on file for future reference once a position closes.
