Among the reasons why people are drawn to Wheaton are the schools, which have received statewide and nationwide acclaim. For example, in 2007, Wheaton North High School was included in Newsweek magazine’s list of top high schools in the nation. Most of Wheaton is served by Community Unit School District 200, which includes elementary, middle and high school students. Wheaton-Warrenville South High School and Wheaton North High School both offer well-rounded educational programs with advanced placement courses for college credit and a variety of extracurricular activities.
Some Wheaton residents who reside in the southeastern portions of the community are served by Elementary School District 89 and High School District 87. Elementary students in this area attend Briar Glen or Arbor View School. High School students attend Glenbard South High School.
Some residents who reside in the northeastern portion of the City are served by Elementary School District 41 and High School District 87. Students in this area attend Churchill Elementary School, Hadley Junior High School and Glenbard West High School.
The City is also home to a number of private elementary schools and St. Francis High School.
