City Considers Ordinance Regarding City Clerk Requirements

In preparation for Executive Assistant/City Clerk Emily Consolazio’s upcoming retirement, the City Council received an ordinance that would allow the City Clerk’s position to be filled by a non-Wheaton resident. The change would allow for City staff to move an existing employee who is very familiar with the Executive Assistant/City Clerk duties into the position. The Council will formally consider the ordinance at its Feb. 7, 2011 meeting.

Council Discusses Change to Graffiti Portion of City Code

The City Council received a proposed ordinance that would shorten the amount of time for property owner to remove graffiti from a structure from 30 days to 10 days and increase the minimum fine for violating the ordinance from $50 to $200. The Council will formally consider the ordinance at its Feb. 7, 2011 meeting.
